Skills|"Baiyu Craftsmen" Cup Elevator Installation and Repair Skills Competition is in progress

The much-anticipated "Baiyu Craftsmen" Cup Chongqing Second Elevator Installation and Repair Skills Competition was held at Chongqing Wester Vocational Training School this week.

Chongqing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation and Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau jointly organized this competition. After the preliminary screening, 160 employees from more than 50 enterprise teams in Chongqing and 20 students from vocational colleges participated in the two-day on-site practical rematch.

The theme of this competition is "High skills take you around the world". The contestants wear safety helmets and life ropes, and in a simulated elevator installation and maintenance scenario, they have to troubleshoot multiple pre-set faults and lay out the lines before elevator installation within the prescribed 60 minutes. The referees will score and judge the contestants from multiple angles on their safety operating procedures, fault analysis capabilities, and standardization of actions.

Chongqing Wester Elevator and Handai Elevator Engineering Co., Ltd. sent teams to participate in this practical competition, including elevator installation and maintenance, to compete for 30 final seats. The final will be held on August 10 at Chongqing Wester Vocational Training School. There will be 1 first prize winner, 2 second prize winners, and 3 third prize winners. Finally, Chongqing will select 5 master craftsmen to represent Chongqing in the National Elevator Skills Competition held in Dezhou, Shandong in September.

It is reported that the current number of elevators in Chongqing has reached more than 210,000, and more than 38,000 people have obtained elevator management and operation certificates. In May 2021, Chongqing Wester Vocational Training School was established with the aim of training high-level elevator installation and maintenance personnel for the country. It will also work with various classes to improve the level of elevator professional skills and ensure elevator safety.
